Valerian I, 253-260. Sestertius (Bronze, 27 mm, 12.28 g, 11 h), Rome, 253-254. IMP [C P L]IC VALERIANVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian to right. Rev. VICTORIA AVGG / S - C Victory running left, holding wreath in right hand and palm in left. Cohen 219. MIR 32g (4 specimens). RIC 177. A rare issue, apparently known from a single reverse die. A nice example with a particularly elegant portrait. Struck on a somewhat short flan, otherwise, very fine.
